Nineteenth century enameled French bronze compact with beautiful hand-painted portrait of a lady. Surrounding the portrait are small faux glass pearls and a design done in turquoise and white enamel. Each faux pearl is prong set. The portrait has a rope design bordering it, and the box itself has a double rope border. Inside the box is the original beveled mirror in great condition with a rope detail surrounding it. The lip around the mirror is marked, "Made in France". The edge of the box has a fancy floral design, and the back side (below the hinge) has a loop where it could have been hung from a belt or bracelet. This case is 1.75" across the diameter and .5" deep, holds 1/4 oz. (8 ml) solid perfume of your choice.
