One-of-a-kind octagonal sterling antique patch box featuring deeply-embossed floral bouquet with elegant finger ring and chain. The top features an arrangement of three finely done repousse roses, 3 other flowers along with various leaves. The top border and side features a row of finely done repousse flowers.The finger ring has "sterling 925" hallmark. Original mirror in great shape, gold vermeil inside and a "sterling 925" hallmark on inner rim of lid. It is 1.6 inches across, and the price includes 1/4 oz (8 ml) solid perfume of your choice. Has ring which allows it to be worn as a locket. Patch boxes came into use during the 18th century at the court of Louis XV, where the use of "beauty patches" was popular. A beauty patch was made of gummed silk and was pasted on the skin as a "beauty mark" to emphasize a woman's facial feature, usually the cheek.
