Sumptuous Art Nouveau sterling silver patch box is embossed with beautiful violet flowers and leaves. The back of the box is decorated with embossed sprays of tiny flowers and leaves. Beveled mirror inside the lid in perfect condition with gold rope braid around it. The patch box has a ring which allows it to be worn as a locket. It has three hallmarks and a gold-wash on the interior. 1.5 inches across. Feels good in the hand and the price includes 1/4 oz (8 ml) solid perfume of your choice. Patch boxes came into use during the 18th century at the court of Louis XV, where the use of "beauty patches" was popular.
