This rare classic compact, a miniature work of art, represents a state of the art example of the use of aluminium as an artistic medium in the Art Deco period. Huguenin pieces are collectible and known for their fine workmanship and charming rendering of nature. Beautifully sculptured, this Art Deco aluminum compact is signed 'Huguenin' on the front. The inside was gold plated, which has mostly worn away, and is stamped ‘METAL DORE’ and includes a maker’s mark.
