Antique two-sided Swiss niello enamel compact with stunning checkerboard pattern in 800 silver. Very elegant slim profile with pushbutton catch. Has the original magnifying mirror in good shape. Over a hundred years old and hallmarked for 800 silver and one maker's mark. Has a loop which allows it be worn as a locket. Closes with satisfying snap. Niello is a kind of enameling applied to silver focusing on the high contrast between the silver and the black.  This case is 1.75" across, and the price includes a quarter ounce (8 ml) of solid perfume of your choice.
