Highly collectible S Cottle American antique sterling silver patch box from the late 1890's with a gold wash inside. Undulating ferns decorate this deeply embossed, beautifully made patch box. The ferns are almost "chiseled" as they adorn the top, sides, and bottom of the box. Marked with the word "sterling" on the top rim and the famous Cottle silver marker's mark "SC" intertwined. Has a ring which allows it to be worn as a pendant. A tactile box of substantial and sumptuous gauge that feels good in the hand and closes with a satisfying snap. 1.75 inches across, and the price includes 1/4 oz (8 ml) solid perfume of your choice.
